Helping your child reach their academic goals!
Helping your child reach their academic goals!
I offer private, one-on-one tutoring that focuses on helping your child feel more comfortable and confident in the classroom. I understand that students have different learning needs and styles, and I will get to know your child and operate in a way that works best for them. Peer-to-peer tutoring has been proven to lead to higher levels of academic achievement. Peer tutoring promotes active learning. Additionally, students who receive peer tutoring feel more comfortable receiving instruction from fellow students than from adult teachers. I am committed to helping students with their homework, projects, assessment prep, or even clarifying topics taught in class. I will also work to improve your child’s study habits to create the most efficient way for them to succeed academically. I am qualified to teach all subjects from Math (up until calculus), English, History, Science (biology, chemistry, etc.), and Spanish. Lessons can be held in person at your home (in the larger Bethesda area) or online via zoom, whatever is most convenient for you. I hope to make the experience of learning not only fun but also flexible!
As more and more universities go back to requiring standardized test scores as part of the admissions process, prepping for the ACT has become even more crucial. I have a 36 ACT score and a breadth of resources at my disposal to ensure every student performs to the best of their abilities.
I am a high school graduate from The Madeira School and I will be attending Vanderbilt University in the fall. My main academic interests lie in the STEM field, as I plan to major in Molecular and Cellular Biology on a premed track with a minor in Russian Studies. I look to pass on my organization and research skills to your child in an enjoyable way. I enjoy working with children, as I understand how to keep them engaged and interested in topics to make learning seem less of a chore and more of an interesting activity. I convert academic frustrations into enthusiastic academic understandings.
I have vast experience working with and teaching children. In 2022 I worked as a teacher's assistant at Northern Virginia Family Services Head Start. There I provided children ages three to six with individualized academic and emotional support and designed and executed a cultural awareness day program. I was also a counselor in training at the Jewish Community Center, and I currently volunteer for Kid's Enjoy Exercise Now and babysit elementary school-age children.
